Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela said on Thursday, 31 July that his family did not ask for donations.

“Da Les’ family did not ask for donations. Some clarity on the trending topic of Mampe family asking for donations to cover the rapper’s medical bills has revealed that; it was Da Les’ friends who started the call as a gesture of support,” says Mphela.

Petition against Chidinma Adetshina has been deleted

Chidinma Vanessa Adetshina has over 14,000 people against her participation in the Miss South Africa 2024.

The model has successfully become a finalist and it is presumed that she might win the competition despite not being endorsed by tons of South Africans.

Africa Facts Zone shared a screenshot of the petition signed and it has over 14,000 signatures, but the petition has been deleted from the site.

The now-deleted post garnered lots of attention and reaction on Twitter.

Read some of the comments below:

“Imagine Africans hating on fellow Africans, that continent isn’t ready to be great. How do you hate on your own African sister? Shocking!”

“They can delete the Petition, but she’s still not getting our own Miss SA Crown…. However we appreciate her, Nigerians and other Jollofinas for promoting Miss SA in such an incredible way, Globally Mzansi will give you chest pains.”

“Personally, Nigerians will never accept this in their country. Her father is a Nigerian, he’s not a South African. A stranger cannot be representing another country. Imagine a Ghanaian man’s child becoming Miss Nigeria and her name is Adwoa. Welcome Miss Nigeria: Miss Adwoa Kojo. Nigerians will not accept it. Same Nigeria that didn’t allow Gbadebo rule in Lagos. The double standards sha.”

“She might not win, but she has made a statement, and that’s a big win for me.”

“Ethnic hatred remains one of the biggest problems in Africa, it remains a never-ending issue; But same Africans condemn racial discrimination against POC. It’s sickening.”

“She won’t win anyway, she is just being used to promote the show because they know the way Nigerians and South Africans behave…”

And promoting Chidimma as top 13 finalist,” the DJ said.

Sbu further slammed people cancelling him and the Mofaya brand.

Cassper Nyovest’s debut album turns 10

Cassper Nyovest reminisces as he celebrates the 10th anniversary of his debut album, Tsholofelo.

Taking to social media, the South African rapper spoke about how the project launched his career to the peak and bagged him multiple awards and recognitions.

He said the iconic album is the best-selling hip hop album of all time and he expressed gratitude to everyone who stood by him through the journey.

“First and foremost I wanna thank God for the talent, the protection, and his grace even when I was in the wilderness. My testimony is a real one. A young boy who had a dream and believed in God. We dropped this album independently with no experience, wisdom, or money.”

“Little did we know that we were making history and that we would change the ground of South African music and Africa as a whole forever. The album went on to win many awards and is the best selling Hip Hop Album of all time. It started debates and is a case study in many rooms. It’s cause of this album that today kids know they can do it all in their bedroom and nobody is running to labels to be signed and enslaved.”

Nyovest said the album made him demand what he deserves from brands, and not the other way round, which was an eye-opener to other artists.

“We changed the structure of corporate partnerships with artists and we started demanding what we are worth and not what they offered us. This is the album that set the foundation for me to become the first African Artist to sell out The Dome which was the most prestigious venue in Africa. We opened a retail store called @family_tree_store and it thrived for years before we closed it down. Everything flows from this album, including my business endeavours like @billiato1 and @rootoffame,” he wrote.

Cassper Nyovest continued the note by expressing gratitude to his manager, his fans, and to God.
