About Lerato From Diepcity (Kgaogelo Monama)

With Sunday, 18 June 2023 just around the corner. The official promotional run towards the premiere of the much-anticipated remake of the 1986 classic retelling of the life and times of Zulu warrior and king, Shaka Zulu of the same name.

Promotion for the series has been long-going as it started as early as December 2022. For the most part, lead and executive producer Nomzamo Mbatha, who is set to play Queen Nandi, has been at the forefront of promoting the joint venture with Bomb Production.

As such, it seems that it was only recently, that it was highlighted that acclaimed young actor Lemogang Tsipa, who is Motswana of tribal origin, is set to play the adult version of the most prolific Zulu king.

Is a SeSotho-speaking Shaka Zulu a problem?

Lemogang Tsipa has made waves in the three years and counting since he broke into the mainstream of the film and television industry locally. This is as he was first reported by the publication:
“The young actor has impressed a lot of people since appearing on iSthembiso and some women have taken a great liking to Lemogang as well.

If there’s one thing people have come to appreciate about Lemogang is his passion for acting and how seriously he takes his craft.

In 2017 he acted in a local movie titled Beyond The River which received a lot of raving reviews.”

However, it seems as if excitement has been piqued ahead of the premiere episode of the retelling of the Shaka Zulu story. One social media user took to the timeline to highlight that Lemogang was actually Motswana of tribal origin rather than Zulu.

The sports fan has travelled to Bloemfontein to show her support. And by the looks of it, she’s receiving VIP treatment.

Does this have anything to do with her meeting Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie this week?

Mama Joy’s jubilant tweets come a week after she claimed that the Springboks loss to Ireland was due to her absence.

She tweeted: “Mama Joy, @Springboks⁩ lucky charm was not there. Previous game, I was fast and prayed for my team, but today, I ate pap and vleis in the morning. During the game, I was snacking.’

Chauke – who earlier trolled Gayton McKenzie over his claims that superfans must watch games on television – added: “You had like a prophetic message to me yesterday. Meaning I won’t go to Durban… Today, Springboks lost 25-24 against Ireland.

“So, the Minister of Sports has to understand that Mama Joy has a lot of influence with sports, with Springboks.”

Mama Joy claimed her absence from Kings Park Stadium was the reason behind the Springboks loss to Ireland.

@Murda_GGs: “Jody Williams still has it, sjoe!”

@bantsunduncapha: “Jody Williams? SA Idols winner, Jody Williams? Where has she been ?!?!”

On her Instagram account, Jody acknowledged her performance in the historic match.

WHY DID EX-IDOLS SA SINGER QUIT MUSIC CAREER?
In 2019, Jody Williams sensationally claimed that appearing on Idols “ruined” her life.

The award-winning star hinted that her life had spun out of control after she made some bad decisions with her money.

After her gigs dried up and money became scarce, Jody sold her family home and took up an office job as an administrative assistant.

She told The Daily Voice: “Idols showed me the world, with the travelling overseas and meeting international artists. I just saw the money and a good life, but that was just the child in me.

“If only we had a life coach and financial advisor back when I won Idols, I think things would have been so much different.

Jody added: “I am so happy with what I am doing. Music ruined me as a young adult and I was yearning for stability. I spoke to my family and told them I didn’t want to do music anymore. I now do it as a hobby, but I don’t want to sing for a living again.”
