In 2023, the Gospel team which was led by Dumi Mkokstad defeated the Gqom group with 3-0, and Tira aims at revenging this year.The maskandi team, led by Khuzani Mpungose, will face the hip-hop team led by Big Zulu in the first game, while the gqom team will again challenge the gospel team.


 

The winners of each game will then compete in the final.The Celebrity Soccer games are set to take place at Tsakane Stadium in Tsakane, Ekurhuleni on Sunday, 21 July.

“This year we are back, and we will surprise the other genres because they underestimate us. We will start by taking revenge, defeating the gospel team 3-0, and we aim to face hip-hop in the final and win,” DJ Tira said, revealing that Goldmax and NaakMusiQ will join the Gqom team.

“NaakMusiQ will give the gospel team a headache and handle the gospel team player who troubled us last year,” he added.

Mabaso, popularly known as Suffocate from his role on e.tv’s Rhythm City, is now part of House Of Zwide, also on e.tv, while it is rumoured that Vusi Kunene is leaving.Earlier this year, Mabaso starred as Prince Andile on BET Africa’s Queendom, then the series allegedly couldn’t pay its cast members and crew. The drama series was halted after two months of nonpayment by Clive Morris Productions.
