Pearl Monama speaks about her character on Generations

Pearl Monama is a South African actress who plays Sphe Moroka on Generations: The Legacy. The good girl gone lousy character captivates Generations viewers from the onset and has never stopped since. She is just at the beginning of her career, and she isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Even though Sphe is one of the most well-liked characters on the show, her metamorphosis from a quiet, reserved young girl to a rebel has everyone talking.

Pearl mentioned that adapting to the role has been difficult.

“I have really enjoyed my role on the show so far but the most challenging part has been moving with her through her different situations. When she started she was humble and respectful. Now she is something else. She backchats her parents and fights with her in-laws. Her character gets backlash but I have learnt to understand that there is a difference between the character and me.”

Pearl said that while her character often demands attention‚ she is a lot more reserved.

The actress said that even some of her friends refer to her as Sphe and that she’s learnt to not take criticism about her character too seriously.

“Whatever backlash she gets means that I am doing a good job in portraying her and bringing out emotions. So I don’t take it personally. Not everyone is going to love the character and what she does. If they are criticising her‚ it means they are recognising something in her that is in themselves as well.”

Even though Pearl has had two years to adjust to the notoriety that comes with working on Generations, she still found the attention to be somewhat overwhelming at times.

“People think that I am the person that I am on TV. They see me and expect me to know them. I never know how to receive that‚ especially when they are over excited. They can sometimes get carried away. They pull you in different directions.”

Pearl has made use of her notoriety to instruct and guide aspiring actors at the drama department of the University of Pretoria.

Actors and crew are once again left frustrated as they continue to go unpaid by Clive Morris Productions, while he apparently enjoys his time gallivanting overseas, according to ZiMoja.

In April, ZiMoja hilariously revealed that the hardworking cast and crew of Queendom, including the talented Linda Mtoba, Samkelo Ndlovu, Hamilton Dlamini, Siyabonga Twala, and Sindi Dlathu, were unfortunately left waiting for their well-deserved paychecks. Surprisingly, even the cast and crew of the new Showmax drama Empini faced the same unfortunate fate.

“Imagine watching yourself on screen while broke!’ two furious staff members said, adding that “Clive was in Greece and Spain and now he is in Israel with his family. Zero consideration about what our families are going through. In April, we ended up getting paid very late and we were up to our necks in debt by the time we received the money—debit orders late, insurance, life insurance, etc.’ An actor in one of the productions said, “We would understand If we had other streams of income, but how do we do that when we are always on set, and by the time we go home, we are exhausted?’In a text message seen by ZiMoja, sent to the WhatsApp group chat alleged ran by Clive, he wrote, “I understand that everyone is angry, and deservedly so. We have let you down and whatever the reason, doesn’t help to put things right or make you feel better. I am happy to take it on the chin and accept the rocks thrown at me,’ Clive said.

“What I can tell you is that we are not sitting on the money and deciding not to pay people, we are actively working non-stop to get the funding to pay everyone.’ He went on to say they are looking for the funds to pay staff. “We may have paid late in the past for various reasons out of our control, but we have never not paid anyone. Everyone will be paid, and we are asking for a little breathing room so we can focus on finding the funds as quickly as possible.’ZiMoja reached out to Monde Twala, the Senior Vice President & GM of Paramount Africa & Lead BET International, regarding the current broadcast of Queendom.”BET has recently been made aware of Clive Morris Productions’ delayed payments to the cast and crew of Queendom. We have engaged Clive Morris Productions to mitigate delayed payments to the esteemed cast and crew, and swiftly resolve this matter.”

It seems that executive producer Khayelihle Dominique Gumede is currently on sick leave, but they had previously informed ZiMoja that they were working on resolving their financial issues.

“It’s a cost timing issue but the production needs to just match expenses. We are in conversation with the client, and we are trying to communicate robustly. But there is also a sense that one is resolving the problem as easily as possible,” said Khayelihle.

“Owes over R2 million”: Prince Kaybee loses all assets over SARS debt?

Prince Kaybee, the award-winning South African producer, has found himself embroiled in a significant tax dispute with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). According to documents obtained by ZiMoja, the Gugulethu hitmaker, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, owes the tax authority over R2 million in unpaid taxes, spanning a period of more than a year, aacording to ZiMoja.

SARS has now issued Kaybee with a final letter of demand, giving him just 10 business days to either pay the full amount or make arrangements for an installment plan, should he be unable to settle the debt in its entirety.

Failure to comply with this demand could have dire consequences for the producer, as SARS has warned that it may appoint a third party to settle the debt or even initiate the repossession and sale of his assets by the sheriff of the court. The letter further states that Kaybee, as a natural person, may apply for a reduction in the amount owed based on his and his dependents’ basic living expenses, or, if he is a non-natural person, he can apply for a reduction due to serious financial hardship.

In recent years, Kaybee has made headlines for his business ventures, such as his decision to purchase trucks and create employment opportunities for three potential drivers. However, the producer has also faced allegations of song theft, with two artists, Bhizer and Botlhale Phora, accusing him of appropriating the ideas of songs they had sent him in 2021. Kaybee has yet to respond to these accusations.

The tax dispute with SARS has undoubtedly added to the challenges faced by the award-winning producer, who has been navigating the complexities of the music industry as an independent artist, having recently parted ways with major labels. This latest development serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining proper financial practices and compliance, even for successful artists in the highly competitive and dynamic world of the music business.

A picture of Simz and Tino was posted on social media. Knowing people on social media whenever a picture is posted they will always look for something wrong especially if the person is a celebrity. Below is the picture of Tino and Simz that was posted on social media that got people talking.

After this picture was shared people noticed something about Simz socks, they noticed that on the right thigh, they were torn. Someone even commented saying your pantyhose are torn but you still look beautiful.

Another one commented saying, is it the first time people have seen torn pantyhose? Then another commented saying Simz’s boyfriend looks like her late husband Simphiwe Ngema.

The problem with people on social media they are mean, One thing about people on social media is that they always want to look for something wrong, women know that it is normal for pantyhose to be torn because it always happens, so why make fun of Simz as If she did something wrong.
