DJ Maphorisa is in huge debt
DJ Maphorisa is reportedly owing record label Sony Music R20 million.
The South African musician took a loan of the aforementioned amount from the music company, but he is currently struggling to pay.
According to Zimoja, a source said, “He took an advance from the company because he was sure that he was going to be able to pay it back, but now he’s struggling to pay it back, because of course he has to pay the interest back.”
Another source confirms the debt, “He’s stressed because he has to pay them back, he fell into the trap that most artists fall into and take advances from record labels forgetting that they’ll want it back with interest.”
DJ Maphorisa is said to be putting pressure on other artists so he can pay up the debt.
