Mamarumo Marokane is a South African actress best known for her role as Vuvu on e.tv Scandal. As well as playing Dineo in the MTV drama series MTV Shuga: Down South.
She studied at City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts, graduating with a diploma in Acting for Camera and Live Performance.
Mamarumo made her television acting debut in the BET Africa drama series Grit, which aired for two seasons from 2016-2017.
She next appeared in the Mzansi Magic telemovie Isipho Sothando, which aired as part of the channel’s “Lokshin Bioskop” strand of one-hour TV movies.
The movie, about a young and naïve couple from notorious money laundering families who put their lives in danger when they choose to stay together, first aired on 18 October, 2018.
Mamarumo next played the recurring role of sports science student Dineo in the seventh season of the MTV drama series MTV Shuga, entitled “Down South 2”.
She appeared throughout the season, beginning with the Season 7 premiere on 19 February, 2019.
A month later she had a guest role in the series premiere of the Netflix South Africa superhero action series Shadow, which debuted on 8 March, 2019.
Also in 2019, she had a starring role in another Lokshin Bioskop telemovie on Mzansi Magic, entitled Magenge, about a young man who turns to a life of excessive partying after the death of his mother until his father steps in to help him get back on the right path.
