Proteas One Day International (ODI) captain Temba Bavuma celebrated his son’s birthday on his official Instagram page. The sportsman’s little man, Lihle turned one on Monday, 30 September.
TEMBA BAVUMA CELEBRATES SON’S BIRTHDAY
The proud father took to his feed and posted cute snaps of himself and Lihle’s beary birthday theme celebration. Temba and Lihle donned matching colours in the pics. The star captioned his post:
“Happy 1 year birthday Lihle.”
Temba and his wife, Phila tied the knot in August 2018. TshisaLIVE reports that the intimate ceremony occurred at La Motte Wine Estate near Franschhoek. The cricketer donned a white suit with black trimmings and his bae rocked a white lace outfit.
The star later took to his official Instagram feed to thank his friends and family for honouring his invite. Fellow cricketers, including Kagiso Rabada, also witnessed their teammate put a ring on it at the garden ceremony.
TEMBA BAVUMA: RESULTS ARE IMPORTANT
The batsman celebrated his son’s birthday with the ODI against Ireland on Wednesday, 2 October in the back of his mind. IOL reports that Bavuma said the Proteas are ready to redeem themselves after a poor showing against Afghanistan and Ireland in their previous matches.
“As much as you’re trying to increase player depth, give players worthy opportunities, it’s important that you do have the results to back that up, so at no point are we trying to compromise that.”
DID MAKHAYA NTINI’S SON DEFEND TEMBA BAVUMA?
In most cases, the captain gets blamed when the team is not doing well. Bavuma has in the past been criticised for the Proteas’ poor performances. Makhaya Ntini’s son, Thando Ntini defended Bavuma against criticism. Bavuma was slammed for his unconvincing leadership in the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
In an interview, Thando expressed that Bavuma’s criticism was unwarranted, adding that Bavuma is “good enough”. He blamed the critics for not praising Bavuma when he was doing well.
