Even with a devoted following, the program had trouble drawing enough viewers to cover its broadcast expenses and airtime.

Since its 1996 debut, SABC 2 has featured Muvhango, a series renowned for its compelling narratives and endearing characters. The program had grown to be a mainstay in many South African homes over the years, with viewers growing up with it.Although Muvhango’s finale is a sad day for its viewers, the show’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those who cherished it. The performers and crew should be pleased with their effort and the effect the show has made on South Africa.
The fundamental idea of the program is “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu,” which means that we are a part of our surroundings. Strong family-oriented narratives throughout the program aim to address the tension between conventional wisdom and contemporary values. While those in Johannesburg concentrate on modern methods, the Vhakwevho family looks after the traditional side of things.

The show received a nomination for best soap opera at the 2006 South African Film and Television Awards.

Among Venda’s most esteemed royal houses is the Mukwevho line. Susan, Pfuluwani, Vele, and Mpho were the four wives of Azwindini, the chief. The mother of the Chief and the Queen Mother is Vho-Masindi. The younger brother of Vho-Makhadzi, who serves as Azwindini’s Royal Advisor, is Vho-Gizara.

Vho-Makhadzi is the family matriarch by blood. Vho-Albert, Vho-Mushasha, and Vho-Mashudu (Azwindini’s father) are the brothers of the siblings Vho-Makhadzi, Vho-Gizara, Vho-Borosi, and Vho-Phusuphusu. All of these brothers passed away.
