Molokoane who fell ill following his performances in Botswana passed away on Wednesday, 2 October at 65.
GOSPEL STAR SAYS HE’S A ZCC MEMBER
Social media user @Mo_Magoda wrote on X on Wednesday, 2 October that Solly Moholo was never a ZZC member.
“ZZC members know that he used their theme songs and regalia designs to brand himself. You can never find a picture of him wearing a star or leba” (dove), adds Magoda.
Moholo rubbished reports that he’s not a ZCC member on The Venting Podcast earlier this year.
He revealed to podcaster and sangoma, Gogo Skhotheni that he will never leave ZCC.
Moholo says: “I’m a ZCC member. Solly Moholo was baptised at Moria. I also attend church there.”
Skhotheni says: “There was a rumour that you don’t attend the church anymore, that you now attend Bushiri’s church.”
The late musician laughs and replies: “Solly will never leave ZCC. Yes, I had a discussion with Bushiri about a music video. The journalist published fake news.”
He also clarified: “ZCC has its own songs and its own rules. We make our own songs.”
The singer also opens up about his suicide attempt and reveals that he discovered Limpopo-born gospel singer Winnie Mashaba.“It is with great sadness that we are informing you on behalf of the Molokoane family, that is Solly Moholo’s family, that our beloved legend “Solly Moholo” has sadly passed on,” the statement reads.
Moholo passed away whilst in hospital on 2 October, according to the statement.
“Solly Moholo was hospitalised after falling ill following his pre album launch tour in Botswana. He will be sorely missed. May his laughter continue to echo the walls of heaven. Let us remember him fondly for the healing music he gave us over the years,” adds the statement.
The Ke Latlhile Bokinza singer was hospitalised in Botswana after falling ill and was transferred to a South African hospital on Wednesday, 28 August.
