Former Miss SA finalist Chidinma Adetshina has received a laudable number of support from South Africans after she joined the Miss Universe Nigeria contest.

The Organisers offered the SA-born model the opportunity which she grabbed as she withdrew from the Miss SA 2024 competition after being cancelled due to her father’s nationality, Nigeria.

 

 

 

Chidinma represents Miss Taraba at the Miss Universe Nigeria competition and she needs vote to get qualified for the next phase.

She died at Garden City Hospital in Johannesburg following “a period of illness,” a statement from the family explained. She was 72.
Her son, Nongelo Chiume, told Newzroom Afrika that his mother had originally been admitted to the hospital for a “medical procedure” and had been “recovering well” prior to her passing.

“Her children would like to express their deep appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff who provided exceptional care during her stay,” it continued.

“And today I am standing here, remembering a colleague who has travelled all the way with us. I am her brother because I am 74 now,” said Sejake.
THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR TEARS
He paid a stunning poetic homage to Chiume, stating that now is not the time for regrets or tears.
“When I came across Connie way back in the 70s, she would say very strange things sometimes.
“She said: ‘Owen, as we are, we are also a part of and parcel of this country; we are the people who shared the night with the moon; we owned darkness with the stars,” he said.
The actress was not considered a celebrity in her neighbourhood, said one of Chiume’s neighbours.

“But the police told me to go and look for the person who stole my phone myself. They further told me to call them if I found the suspect. I was so shocked.
